Security Mutual Employees “Sock Out Cancer” on National Sock Day

You know Hanukkah and Christmas and Kwanzaa and New Year’s. Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday and Boxing Day. But do you recall, a little known holiday among them all?

Well, Security Mutual employees do, and they celebrated it on December 4:  National Sock Day! Unlike many of its fellow December celebrations, this one is pretty simple and doesn’t require weeks of preparation—just wear your favorite pair of socks, and the more wild the socks, the better.

Employees chose National Sock Day as a way to also share a message of hope with cancer patients, survivors, and their families. They did so by donning Sock Out Cancer’s signature multi-colored socks, which symbolize the fight against cancer in all its forms.

Don’t feel too bad if you missed National Sock Day. You can add a dash of cheer to your life and the lives of everyone around you by purchasing Sock Out Cancer socks and wearing them throughout the year! The net proceeds from all sock sales go directly to local hospital foundations and other charitable organizations to help financially distressed cancer patients pay for non-medical necessities such as food, transportation and housing.
