Sock Out Cancer® Announces 2023 Benefit Concerts

Sock Out Cancer® and Security Mutual Life, alongside local leaders, and special guests, announced the details for Sock Out Cancer’s 2023 benefit concerts, which will take place Friday, October 20, 2023, at the Broome County Forum Theatre in Binghamton, NY, and October 21, 2023, at the Landmark Theatre, in Syracuse, NY. This year’s concerts will feature John Elefante, former vocalist from Kansas, and Fran Cosmo, former vocalist from Boston. 100% of the net proceeds will go to local hospital foundations in Binghamton and Syracuse which will then be distributed to local cancer patients.

“When you hear about these concerts, I hope you come because your dollars all stay local and they go directly to the cause for your neighbors and your friends,” stated Bruce Boyea, Security Mutual Life Chairman of the Board.

Founded in 2017, the mission of Sock Out Cancer is to assist financially distressed cancer patients and their families pay for non-medical necessities such as food, transportation, and housing, so that patients can focus their energy on fighting cancer. Since its inception, Sock Out Cancer® has raised more than $1.3 million for participating hospital foundations and other charitable organizations.

“I want to remind everyone that Security Mutual is the “Company That Cares®” and our intent is to show that through our sponsorship of the 2023 Sock Out Cancer benefit concerts, once again,” said Kirk Gravely, President & CEO of Security Mutual Life.

Also, on hand to announce the concerts was a very special guest: Philip Myers. Myers is the leader of an 8-piece band and has opened for many famous entertainers. Philip and his band will be performing at the 2023 Sock Out Cancer benefit concerts alongside John Elefante and Fran Cosmo. “For $35, where can you go and hear this music, with world-class musicians. And 100% of funds go back to people who need it,” said Myers.

Sock Out Cancer and Security Mutual Life would like to thank all of the sponsors who help make these concerts possible!
